First Build
Our first Kit was completed late 2024 and was based on a standard 1999 BMW Z3 with a 2.0L in-line 6 engine and 5-speed manual gearbox. All standard features were kept including AC, cruise control, power mirrors, electric seats and windows. It also had the full original safety features of ABS and four airbags.
V8 Build
We wanted our second build to incorporate a V8 engine. This car started as a 1997 1.9L 4-cylinder (103kW/140hp) BMW Z3 with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It now has a Toyota 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8 engine with a 4-speed automatic gearbox (216kW/290hp). We dropped the power mirrors for something more period correct and added front and rear overriders and nudge bars. This build no longer has AC (can be reconnected). This car was completed in April 2026.
At a recent car show we got the chance to park besides a more traditional replica. We were very pleased with how our build compared at less than half the cost.
Current Build
As of Late 2026 we are currently working on our fastest project yet. When completed, this build will have a tuned BMW M62TUB44 4.4L V8 paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Aiming to produce around 350 horsepower.
